About Butler National GCUs

Butler National has produced Gun Control Units (GCUs) for Northrop Grumman (formerly ATK) Bushmaster Chain Guns®, 7.62mm through 50mm, for over 20 years – delivering thousands of units for various applications. Our gun control units have been fielded and proven on platforms including the Stryker Dragoon, LAV, MH-60 DAP, AH-64 Apache, and AC-130J Ghostrider. We have also supplied our proprietary logic system for weapon controls for US Army Special Operation Forces.

GCUs for New Applications

Butler National may readily upgrade or modify its GCUs to meet evolving customer needs and/or support additional weapons systems. We design each of our gun control units using proprietary control logic derived from over 25 years of rigorous analysis, testing, and unique design experience from our line of Classic Aviation Products. B306 Combined Gun Control Box for the M230 Chain Gun

Full airworthiness release (AWR) for use on the MH-60 Direct Action Penetrator (DAP). On the DAP, the B306 controls both the M230 and the Meggitt® Magazine Carrier Drive Assembly.

  • The B306 features built-in pin programming, making it automatically fully compatible with both the M230 weapon system on the MH-60 DAP and all AH-64 Apache Pre-Block 3 Aircraft
  • The B306 solves age and obsolescence issues of the 7-217222500-611 GCB
  • Additionally, the B306 provides Full Digital Control, Upgraded Motor Switching, and Jam Protection

The Commercial-Off-The-Shelf applicability of the BNC Control Logic makes it extremely flexible for implementation in even the most complex systems. Full digital control logic is Butler National Corporation proprietary. The B306 Combined Gun Control Box employs Butler National proprietary jam protection logic and control.
